Cutting-edge crack measurement system Shin-Kumonosu
A new technology that improves survey accuracy and enables adaptation to a wider range by combining the crack measurement system "KUMONOS" with photo correction technology.
Recently, in addition to traditional sketch-based surveys, a number of photographic survey techniques have emerged. Determining the shooting size in photographic surveys is the most crucial aspect; however, the size at which cracks are captured varies significantly not only with the width of the cracks but also with the surface color. The color of the surface fluctuates due to various factors such as the material of the concrete and the amount of sunlight, but existing technologies could only determine the shooting size through theoretical calculations. As a result, there were issues such as cracks not being captured, leading to survey omissions, and low accuracy in crack width measurements. However, with the measurement technology of Shin-KUMONOS, using KUMONOS allows for accurate measurement of crack widths from a distance on-site, enabling surveys at optimal photographic sizes. This also allows for deriving the most suitable photographic size (i.e., number of photos) in terms of cost and survey time, making it possible to conduct the most effective and high-quality surveys. In crack surveys, where there are numerous factors that cannot be calculated, such as material types (e.g., aggregates), completion dates, survey timing, and the amount of sunlight on the day, using Shin-KUMONOS technology enables the accumulation of accurate survey data.
